Italian synthwave and horrorsynth artist Vincenzo Salvia has released She never got home, a new single out since 16 October 2026 on Sunlover Records.
The track is a ghost story set to synths. It is built around the Picerno Bridge, a tall, isolated stretch of road in Basilicata, southern Italy, where fog gathers around the tunnels and the river disappears into the dark below.
Salvia tells the local legend in the release notes: a couple driving home late one night see a woman standing in the middle of the road, she throws herself beneath their car, and when they stop and get out there is nothing there. No body, no marks on the asphalt.
The story is personal too. Salvia grew up in Potenza and drove that road many times, and one night he saw a figure in white at the end of the tunnel before the bridge. It turned out to be a road worker painting the centre lines, but the image stayed with him.
In his own words: “‘She Never Got Home’ is the track I made for that figure, and for the woman in the story.”
Salvia describes himself as a synthwave, horrorsynth, Italo disco and Eurodance musician, and his Bandcamp bio notes that his music was featured in the Stranger Things 3 soundtrack.
