Swedish synthpop duo Rymdverket are back with Numb, a new single out on 23 October 2026 via Musikdepartementet.
The band call it one of their most dance-oriented tracks so far: a four-on-the-floor pulse, hypnotic acid synth lines and layered vocal harmonies, with Linda Ganters stretching from her usual low register up into a higher one.
Lyrically it is about breaking the cycle, leaving the ghosts of the past behind and taking back control of your own life.
Numb is also part of something bigger. It was written for the upcoming stage production “Jag har alltid varit som vackrast när jag är som fulast” (I Have Always Been at My Most Beautiful When I Am at My Ugliest), built around the autobiographical poetry of Swedish poet and artist Patric Hamsch Furudal and due to premiere in 2027. Side-Line reports that Numb and two more songs still to come will act as musical bridges between the production’s four main parts, with English lyrics by Furudal.
The first of those four main pieces, Enfant Adulte, arrived on the same day, credited to Hamsch & Rymdverket. It pairs spoken-word poetry with the duo’s electronics rather than a verse-chorus song.
Rymdverket are Henric Byström and Linda Ganters, friends for more than 30 years, who formed the duo in Karlstad in 2024. Their debut album, Some Kind of Start, came out in August 2025.
