Santa Cruz darkwave duo Vandal Moon return with Don’t Cry, a new single out on 23 October 2026 via Gothdammit Records.
It is the first look at their next full-length album, Teardrops on the Sun, which the band say is arriving in 2027.
The band describe the song as a darker, more raw chapter, with singer Blake Voss turning away from a world that feels increasingly corporate and numb and going back to pure, unvarnished emotion.
In the single’s Bandcamp notes, Voss puts the plan for the new record simply: “Our goal for this project is simply to make as absolutely heartfelt an album as we possibly can. We want to make songs that are unapologetically sincere.”
Vandal Moon are Blake Voss on vocals, guitars and synthesizers and Jeremy Einsiedler on drums and synthesizers. Their sound is rooted in the darker new wave and gothic side of the early 80s: synths, guitars and drum machines, as they put it, for your 21st-century heartbreak.
Don’t Cry follows DIE HAPPY, the dystopian concept album about humanity’s obsession with technology that they released in January 2026, and a cover of The Cure’s Lost in March.
