Two synthwave names from opposite sides of the Atlantic meet on one track. Droid Bishop and Shadow Recall released Sampled Memory on 16 October 2026, a four-minute single that fits its title right down to the cover: a glitched magenta face hovering over a neon grid.
Droid Bishop is the project of James Bowen, who describes it on his Bandcamp page as “high energy synthwave and cinematic electronic music driven by analog synths, electric guitar, and retro future aesthetics.” The single comes hot on the heels of his Frontiers album, released in May, and the Frontiers: Hypersleep Expansion Pack that followed on 2 October.
Shadow Recall is a UK synthwave artist whose Bandcamp bio promises “emotive music shaped by the fading memories and neon lights of the 80s,” which makes a song about memory a natural meeting point. Earlier this year Shadow Recall put out the singles Love of Yesterday in February and The Havens in July.
The track runs 4:08, and the writing credits list James Bowen and Ben Spencer. It is out now on the streaming services, with Droid Bishop also sharing it on his SoundCloud.
