Swedish dark-scene mainstays Then Comes Silence will release Requiem Ballroom on 20 November 2026 via Metropolis Records. The twelve-track album is already up for pre-order, and three of its songs are out now.
Those three singles arrived one at a time: Judgement Day on 7 August, Remaker Redeemer on 11 September and Bye Bye Land on 16 October. Frontman Alex Svenson produced the record and wrote the lyrics.
According to Side-Line, the album is built as a diptych. The Requiem half deals with darkness and farewell, while the Ballroom half turns toward light and renewal. The cover plays on the same split, with a stained-glass window shared by a praying figure and a dancer, crowned by a mirror ball.
Bye Bye Land carries the most personal story. Svenson has said the song was inspired by a close friend who went through life-changing trauma, and that it is a reminder of how much that person means to him and to the people around them.
Then Comes Silence have been part of the Swedish dark scene since 2012, with releases on Nuclear Blast, Metropolis and others along the way, including Blood in 2017 and Trickery in 2024. Since 2022 the band has been a trio: Svenson on vocals and bass, Jonas Fransson on drums and Hugo Zombie on guitar.
