Bristol duo Mesh are back already. Fallen Angel, the uptempo title track of a new mini-album, arrived as a single on 21 October 2026 with an official video, ahead of the full release on 27 November on Dependent.
Mark Hockings and Richard Silverthorn wrote the new songs during the touring cycle for this year’s album The Truth Doesn’t Matter, and the band calls the result an addendum to that record rather than a new chapter. Their own comparison: a DLC in gaming, extending the original story with new chapters.
According to Silverthorn, speaking to Side-Line, the song grew out of a piece of music with the working title ‘Pivot’. “Mark came up with an inspired lyric and the finished song stood out as more than just a B-side.”
The nine-track mini-album pairs four new songs – Fallen Angel, Protect Your Neck, Not This Time and The Meeting of the Broken – with Tilt, two versions of Trying To Save You (including an Olaf Wollschläger remix), an extended Fallen Angel and The Truth Doesn’t Matter recorded live in Cologne.
Wollschläger, the band’s long-time producer, also mixed the record with Mesh. It comes as a jewel-case CD, a clear vinyl LP limited to 500 copies and a standard black LP.
Formed in 1991, Mesh have been one of the defining names of British electronic pop for three decades, from The Point At Which It Falls Apart to Automation Baby, which topped the European Alternative Charts. Fallen Angel keeps that story running straight into the band’s November tour dates.
