English synth project The Light Dreams teams up with multi-instrumentalist Steve Ogden of Three By One on LUX, a five-track collaborative EP out on 23 October 2026.
The Light Dreams is the work of Alex Storer. On LUX the two share every credit: the EP was written, arranged, composed, performed and produced by Storer and Ogden together.
The Bandcamp notes describe a record that moves “from modern prog‑rock energy to dark synth‑pop atmospheres, exploring the contrasts of everyday existence.” Whatever the mood, it keeps circling back to one theme: the light that cuts through the dark.
The EP opens with Spill Your Light, which first appeared as a single back in January 2025, then runs through Elevation, The Wave and Always Another Demon.
The closing title track Lux reworks Magnificent, a Light Dreams track first released in 2017, with synths and arrangement by Storer and vocals, lyrics and guitar by Ogden.
The collaboration has been building for a while. Ogden also played guitar on MUTATE 2.0, the expanded reworking of the 2019 album MUTATE that The Light Dreams released on 14 September 2026.
