Los Angeles duo Haute & Freddy have released Film Noir, a new single that came out on 23 October 2026 together with an official music video.
Haute & Freddy are songwriters Michelle Buzz and Lance Shipp, and their sound sits where theatrical synthpop meets gothic alt pop. Film Noir is their Halloween offering, and the duo put it in their own dramatic terms: “It should come as no shock to the royal court that we wanted our Halloween offering to feel as though the phantom himself created it.”
The lyric plays out like an old crime picture: smoke, a netted veil, red satin boots and a figure in the corner of the room looking back at you. The chorus sums it up in one line, “Love is just a film noir.”
The single comes with a B-side, a cover of Peter Gabriel’s In Your Eyes. The video was directed by Amalia Irons.
Film Noir follows the August single Touch Touch and the duo’s debut album Big Disgrace, released in March 2026. Their songs also run through Mike Flanagan’s 2026 Carrie series on Prime Video.
European fans can catch them live in November, with shows lined up in Berlin, Brussels, Amsterdam, Cologne, Paris, Glasgow, Manchester, London, Galway and Dublin.
