Hermidgets have released Like Moths, a dark synthpop single out since 18 September, with an official video on the project’s own YouTube channel. It is the fourth preview of the anonymous Italian act’s third album, expected in early 2027.
On Bandcamp, Hermidgets frame the song as a destructive relationship built on mutual dependency — “the kind of bond you know will consume you, yet cannot stop following.” The moths head for the fire not in spite of the danger, but because of it. The lyric that sticks is the one Side-Line also flagged: “Learn how to pray for the pleasure of having nothing.”
A bass-heavy opening gives way to rhythmic, buzzing synthesizers and a baritone vocal set against a danceable groove, with a bright, wiry synth line running through the track. Matteo Sandri mixed it; Giovanni Versari mastered it.
The black-and-white video isolates Hermidgets’ head and shoulders as white modeling clay obscures and distorts the face, with black pigment arriving later. The concept draws on French artist Olivier de Sagazan, and it suits a project that keeps its members unidentified.
Hermidgets debuted with The Mire in November 2020. The mini-album NIHIL followed in June 2024, recorded with a limited setup of two analog synthesizers, drum samples and voice. This album cycle opened with Fall Apart in July 2025, then Sundown in December 2025 and Could I Be Better in March 2026.
