London synthwave trio GUNSHIP will release Monster in Paradise (Makeup and Vanity Set Remix) on 21 October 2026. The single reworks the opening track of their third album, UNICORN, and is up for pre-order on Bandcamp now.
Milkie Way of Wargasm and saxophonist Tim Cappello, the man behind I Still Believe from The Lost Boys, both feature on the remix. Stephen Kerry mastered it.
The original Monster In Paradise came out as a single on 11 July 2023, ahead of UNICORN on 29 September 2023. Besides Milkie Way and Cappello, it featured Slayer’s Dave Lombardo on additional drums and film composer Tyler Bates on guitar. The video above is GUNSHIP’s official clip for that original version.
Makeup and Vanity Set has worked with the band before: GUNSHIP shared a Makeup and Vanity Set remix of Black Sun On The Horizon back in 2015. The project’s own catalogue includes soundtracks for the video game Brigador Killers and the films The New Way Program and CHARON.
