Canadian pop singer Rêve has turned the dancefloor into a place of worship. Church Of Sound, her new single, came out on 23 October 2026 through Physical Presents, with an official video on her YouTube channel.
Rêve is Briannah Donolo, raised in Montreal, whose breakthrough Ctrl + Alt + Del won the Juno Award for Dance Recording of the Year in 2023. Her debut album Saturn Return followed later that year.
The new song is a three-minute slice of dark synthpop. The chorus sets the tone: “Praying to the church of sound / I just wanna live it loud,” with the aside “God forbid a girl wants to dance.” Culture Fix reads it as a jab at out-of-touch industry executives and the culture of output over quality.
Rêve wrote it with Felix Cartal, her partner on the 2025 single Dancing in a Dream. Kyle Mangels mixed the track and Nathan Dantzler mastered it.
She was also the creative director of the video, which Myles Hodder directed for Revolver Films, with choreography by Mitchell Jackson and a troupe of dancers.
Church Of Sound follows Devour, released in June, and Culture Fix calls it the second preview of Delusions of Grandeur, the second album she announced in May after leaving Universal Music Canada to go independent.
