Producer Rayne Reznor and singer and composer Megan McDuffee have joined forces on The Adder, a dark, venomous single that came out on 23 October 2026.
The pitch on Bandcamp is short and pointed: “This one is for if you’ve ever been sweet-talked by a manipulator. Rage on, my friend.”
The lyric follows that thread from the first line. A relationship has turned to “fallen leaves, crisp with decay,” the partner is “an adder in my bed,” and the truth only shows itself once “the poison reached my veins.” The answer is silence: “keep my lips shut, never falter.”
The credits split the work cleanly. Rayne Reznor handled production, Megan McDuffee wrote the top line and lyrics and sings it, RichaadEB added guitar, and Nathan Kidd mixed and mastered the track. The single also comes with an instrumental version.
Megan McDuffee is an award-winning video game composer, producer and recording artist from the misty woods north of Seattle, and the composer behind the River City Girls 2 soundtrack. Rayne Reznor works out of Belfast, Maine, and released Lizzie: Reborn and its vinyl masters edition.
