Dark synthpop veterans Psyche marked Halloween with a surprise: Beyond The Grave, a three-track release that landed on Bandcamp on 30 October 2026.
It opens with “Dance After Curfew (Emergency Shelter Mix)”, which the band describes as a new arrangement for this year’s Halloween. Next comes “The Saint Became A Lush (4.0 Renewal Mix)”, a fresh take on a song Psyche first put out as a single in 1993.
The closer is “Misery (Lights Of Euphoria Spectral Version)”. Lights of Euphoria first released their version on Brainstorm in February 1995, and this take with Darrin’s vocals originally appeared on the Misguided Angels collection on Artoffact Records in 2000. “Misery” itself goes back to the 1989 album The Influence, one of the songs that started Psyche’s turn toward darkwave.
Psyche were formed by brothers Darrin and Stephen Huss in Edmonton, Canada, and played their first show on 13 December 1982. The band has long been based in Germany, with singer Darrin Huss the one constant member, and its run of albums stretches from Insomnia Theatre (1985) to The 11th Hour (2005), which topped the German Alternative Charts.
Halloween releases have become something of a habit for the band, following the Halloween EP in 2013 and the “Cry Little Sister” single.
