Budapest duo Pleasure Voyage bring the sunset home with Magnetismo, a six-track EP out this month on Polyamore, the label run by Bruno Belissimo. The record is billed as Pleasure Voyage presents Danza Estetica and carries the catalogue number PA042.
The Bandcamp notes call it a colourful journey through balearic sounds, Italo and funk. The title track arrives in four shapes: the Original Mix, a deeper House Dub, a laid-back Sunset Mix and a Disco Mix by Neapolitan producer Whodamanny, of the Periodica Records crew.
Bruno Belissimo adds his own remix, which the release notes describe as groove-driven with his Italo and space-disco touch. Equator Funk, a standalone cut, widens the palette on the B-side.
Newtone Records describes the original as Mediterranean disco boogie with a clear female vocal sung in Portuguese over a funky bassline, and notes the duo’s earlier releases on MM Discos, Constellation Tatsu and Saint Wax.
The EP comes as a 12-inch vinyl and as a digital release. The cover sets the mood before the needle drops: a dancing silhouette, a pixelated palm tree and a pale sun over a red and blue shoreline.
