Chicago dark-pop and industrial project I Ya Toyah has released White Walls, a single that landed on 9 October 2026 through her own Femme Fatale Records label, timed around World Mental Health Day on 10 October.
Proceeds from the single’s release weekend, and new Patreon sign-ups through October, go to Backline Care, the musician-support charity for mental health. An official video is up on her YouTube channel, with a donate button pointing to the same cause.
I Ya Toyah is Ania Tarnowska, a Polish-born musician, producer and engineer based in the Chicago area; the name comes from Polish for “it’s just me.” She writes dark pop that pulls in industrial, electro rock and darkwave, and her catalogue runs from the 2018 debut Code Blue through Panic Room (2023) and the 2024 album DRAMA.
She wrote and composed White Walls herself, co-produced and mixed it with Johnny K, and Howie Weinberg mastered it. Angelica Dulany made the cover. Of the song she has said it is “for the battles we don’t always see, and the people carrying them quietly.”
Alex Zarek directed, filmed and edited the video, with documentary clips by Allison Ciletti and makeup by Janet Debris. In December 2026 she joins the Little Miss Nasty UK tour, including London’s Underworld on 19 December.
White Walls is her fourth single of 2026, after Feelings, Apology and a cover of Nine Inch Nails’ Closer. Buy and stream links are below.
