Midsummer Ex, the Stockholm synthwave project of Johan Collander, has released a new remix of Always 1985 by Droid Bishop, out now on Midsommar85 Records.
Bandcamp dates the single to 6 November 2026 and frames it as reinvented for 2026 by Droid Bishop. Collander wrote the music and lyrics; the remix keeps the original vocals, and the cover artwork is by David Wintle.
The artist describes the cut as original vocals with lush synths, atmospheric guitar and late-night energy. Midsummer Ex lists synthwave, retrowave and 80s synthpop among the project’s styles, and Always 1985 first appeared as a Midsummer Ex single in 2022.
Droid Bishop is a familiar name in the synthwave scene, and the remix is streaming alongside the Bandcamp download.
