German darkwave and synthpop duo OH MADONNA have a new single out in time for Halloween. Obsession Nouvelle arrived on 30 October 2026 via Cold Transmission Music.
The band describe it as a sapphic obsession that spirals into something darker. The story is drawn from Cherie Currie’s memoir “Neon Angel,” which OH MADONNA turn into a sapphic horror movie about the fine line between infatuation and destruction.
Musically, shadowy darkwave pulses meet the glittering edge of ’80s synth pop, built for the dance floor. In the band’s own words, the song is “beautifully doomed, dangerously catchy and just a little unhinged.”
Side-Line’s Karo Kratochwil hears unmistakable ’80s synthpop influence with a contemporary sharpness, and calls the track “a splendid little piece of dark electronic pop.”
Behind OH MADONNA are GEISTHA and nana del gray, two artists who met in Mannheim’s club scene and bring music, visual art and literature together in one project. Side-Line notes that their debut album is approaching.
