Who we are

What we collect and why
- Visiting the site. Our server keeps standard technical logs (IP address, browser, pages requested, time) for security and to keep the site running. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Logs are kept for [To be completed: RETENTION, e.g. 30 days].
- Visitor statistics. We count page views with our own cookie-free counter. It stores no IP addresses: a visitor is recognised for one day only by a scrambled code that changes daily. Only daily totals are kept long term.
- Security. We use Wordfence to protect the site against attacks. It processes IP addresses and request data to block malicious traffic and failed login attempts. Legal basis: legitimate interest.
- Music submissions by email. If you email submit@synthpopworld.com we use your name, email, links and bio to listen to and reply to your submission. Legal basis: steps at your request / legitimate interest. Kept for [To be completed: RETENTION, e.g. 24 months].
- Paid submissions. When you use the paid submission form we store your artist name, email, track details, links, bio and optional press photo, plus the order and payment status. Legal basis: performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) and legal obligations for accounting records (Art. 6(1)(c)). Accounting records are kept as long as Hungarian law requires ([To be completed: RETENTION, e.g. 8 years]).
- Payments. Card payments are handled by Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. We never see or store your full card details. Stripe processes payment data under its own privacy policy: https://stripe.com/privacy
- Embedded videos. Posts embed YouTube videos. When a video loads, YouTube (Google) may set cookies and receive your IP address. See our Cookie Notice.
Who we share data with
Only service providers we need to run the site: our hosting provider ([To be completed: HOSTING PROVIDER, e.g. Contabo GmbH, Germany]), our email provider ([To be completed: EMAIL PROVIDER]), Stripe (payments) and Google/YouTube (embedded videos). Some of these may process data outside the EU under appropriate safeguards (such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework). We do not sell personal data.
Your rights
You can ask us for access to, correction or deletion of your data, restriction of processing, data portability, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interest.
