Los Angeles collective Trade Secrets are back with An Echo In My Heart, their first new single in over two years and the closing track of the upcoming The Holy Skies EP.
Peter Riley wrote the lyrics and sings lead, and told ReGen Magazine, which premiered the track on 23 October, that it is about “how a chance encounter can reverberate through the chambers of an entire life.” Co-founder F.J. DeSanto’s melodic basslines put New Order front and centre, and the band call it “our most anthemic song yet”.
The six-track EP is due on 27 November 2026 via Distortion Productions, with pre-orders open on Bandcamp. It was written, performed, arranged and produced by Mike Venezia, Charles LaBarbara and F.J. DeSanto with John Kunkel and Peter Riley, and mixed and mastered by Venezia.
Scottish synthwave artist Michael Oakley adds synths and programming to “Aoyama Nights”, which also features vocals and guitars by James Meays of Missing Words. It is the band’s first new music since the Brothertiger remix of “Someone Else’s Dream” in August 2024, which followed the album Escaping History.
