Wendy Bevan – Alone With The Unknown

Wendy Bevan has released the official video for Sirens, the opening track of her album Alone With The Unknown. The video premiered on 7 October 2026, three weeks after the album came out on 18 September through Chiaroscuro, with worldwide distribution by The Orchard. The record was produced by Nick Rhodes of Duran Duran.

The clip takes its cue from the beauty imagery made around model Sayoko Yamaguchi and Shiseido in the late 1970s and 1980s, in particular the stylised work associated with Serge Lutens. Bevan stares straight into the camera throughout, framed by saturated colour and deliberate artifice. She says the song “came from a fascination with the idea of an ancient female voice, calling through the waters that seduces you towards something beautiful, while warning you at the same time.”

Alone With The Unknown runs to thirteen tracks and just under 52 minutes, closing with the bonus track Crazy Kinda Feeling. Innocence, Fragile Times, Sleepwalkers and Violet came out as singles in the run-up to and on release day. The album sets synthpop against post-punk, dark cabaret and contemporary classical colours, with songs about connection, commitment, love and desire.

Bevan and Rhodes met at a party in Venice in 2019 and went on to make Astronomia, a four-part cinematic project of 52 tracks released across the solstices and equinoxes of 2021. Alone With The Unknown builds on the sound and themes they laid down there.

Bevan is a singer, electric violinist, composer and photographer who grew up in a theatrical London family. Her 2016 debut Rose and Thorn, produced by Marc Collin for Kwaidan Records, gave her a number one on the European Alternative Charts with Love From the Moon. This summer she played BST Hyde Park on a bill that included Duran Duran.
